EMS Guided Biofilm Therapy (Airflow)

Air Flow ® uses a fine spray of warmed water & Erythritol PLUS powder to gently deep clean the tooth surface above and below the gum line. This minimally invasive technology is safe to use on all oral surfaces & difficult to reach places: enamel, dentine, soft tissues, restorations, orthodontic appliances & implants. Air-Flow treatment can be repeated regularly and is suitable for both adults and children.

‘Erythritol PLUS powder’ has the finest particle size used in dentistry, much finer than the paste used to polish your teeth. It is more thorough and comfortable and gentler on tooth surfaces than traditional methods resulting in less sensitivity and a lasting result (if oral hygiene instructions are maintained as recommended by your hygienist).

What should I expect during my GBT Air-Flow® appointment?

A coloured dye is applied to your teeth, we will then ask you to rinse out leaving behind areas where biofilm is present, and our hygienists will then demonstrate brushing and cleaning techniques, giving advice on your diet and other factors that may be putting your oral health at risk.

We can then begin removing the biofilm, stain & soft plaque using our EMS GBT Air Flow®.  Although, there won’t be direct contact with your teeth, you may feel a light sensation from the air and warmed water. The Piezon ultrasonic scaler will be used to finish up and remove the harder deposits of calculus with great precision – leaving you feeling fresh!

You can book an Air-flow appointment with any of our hygienists. Minimum 60 minute appointment required.
